Calling all Volunteers

We’ll ‘fess up. We’re a fishy kind of business, make no mistake. But if you are looking for someplace to make excellent use of your talents then this is where you need to be.

The Aquarium is on the hunt for volunteers, folks with an eye to getting things done while having a bit of fun with like-minded people. Make some new friends, maybe get splashed a bit, use your unique talents and finely honed skills to a new purpose – building a public aquarium. Really, it doesn’t get much cooler than that.

The project is still in its early stages so there are plenty of opportunities to make your mark based on how much time you have to give and what you like to do. And while this is a large, complex project with some big objectives, it does not mean that we can’t thoroughly enjoy what we are doing.

Specific volunteer jobs will be posted here on the website, there’s a link that says “Volunteers Needed”, which appears on nearly every page. Or you can click on this button to see the current listing:

Volunteers Needed

Eventually an online system for volunteers to register and sign-up for different positions and events will come but it is still in the works (a volunteer to help with that?). Until then, we do it the old fashioned way – no, not morse code, that’s a little too old-fashioned. Let’s go with completing a simple form with some basic info to let us know you’re interested. If you find a position in the Volunteers Needed section that you’d like, follow the directions there to apply.

Another way is to watch the Events section on the home page. Look for upcoming ‘Fishbowl Forums’ or public information sessions where you can meet the people on the project and learn about the aquarium. There is always someone to talk to about volunteering at these events.

Not all positions require you to live in the Edmonton Region, but most will. Keep checking back regularly for updates or hey, join the mailing list so we can send you the changes when they happen, straight to your inbox.

We can’t wait to meet you!
